How to Commission a Pet Portrait:
Commissioning a pet portrait is simple:
Send a selection of photographs of your pet. I’ll advise on which image will work best for a portrait. We agree size, format, and price upfront
Your portrait is created in my Lewes studio.
Please be assured I can paint a great likeness of all pets. Just because there isn’t a cat or other pet in my examples does not mean I can’t paint them.
Collection or UK-wide delivery is arranged when complete
Turnaround times vary, but as a guide. The pastel and charcoal drawings take 5 - 10 days and the oil portraits take up to 3 weeks I’ll confirm this before starting.
Choosing the Right Photo
The best pet portraits come from clear, natural photos with good light and a relaxed pose. So take plenty of shots in different conditions and send them over to me—I’ll then let you know what will translate well into a painting or drawing. Just avoid low light indoors, as there’ll be no detail or too brilliant sunshine outdoors which ironically gives the same problem!
