Weekly Drawing Studio
Weekly Drawing Studio
Develop your drawing through regular demonstrations, practical exercises and individual guidance.
Each week begins with a shared skill, followed by time to apply the technique to your own drawing. Teaching is adapted to your experience, so beginners and improvers can work alongside one another.
The programme
The rolling programme covers:
Line and careful observation
Proportion and measuring
Negative space
Light, shade and tonal values
Creating solid form
Composition and cropping
Perspective
Expressive charcoal
Ink and varied marks
Texture and surface
Developing and completing a personal project
The programme can be repeated using new subjects, materials and increasingly challenging projects.
How each class works
Every two-hour session includes:
A short drawing warm-up
A demonstration of the weekly skill
Time to develop your own work
Individual guidance and troubleshooting
Who is it for?
The studio welcomes adult beginners and improvers. It is ideal if you have completed the Beginners Drawing Course, are returning to drawing or would like regular tuition and encouragement.
You may join at any point, but classes are booked by the term rather than individually. The only one-off session available is a taster.
