Three nights away, two days of painting and drawing, and time to enjoy a beautiful corner of France.

Imagine putting everyday commitments aside, settling into lovely French surroundings and spending your days painting, sharing ideas and enjoying delicious food with a small group.

Join me, Kirsten Norbury, at Maison du Fort in the beautiful Bergerac region of south-west France for a relaxed and inspiring creative escape.

Time to slow down and paint

With two days devoted to painting and drawing, you’ll have time to experiment, develop your ideas and spend longer on your work than a weekly class allows.

Weather permitting, we’ll spend one day working in the studio and another drawing and painting the local scenery. There will be guidance throughout, with help on choosing a composition, mixing colour and bringing your paintings together.

You don’t need to be an experienced painter. Beginners and improvers are welcome, and I’ll support you at your own pace.

More than a painting weekend

Alongside our painting sessions, there will be time to relax, chat over meals and enjoy being somewhere different. Come with a friend or come on your own—you’ll be part of a small, welcoming group with a shared interest in art.

The retreat brings together:

Three nights at Maison du Fort, from Friday 4th to Monday 7th June 2027
Two days of guided painting and drawing
Studio time and opportunities to work outdoors, weather permitting
Delicious meals and relaxed company
Single occupancy accommodation, with a shared-room option for couples or friends

Flights and Saturday evening dinner are additional. Optional yoga and wine tasting are available at an extra cost and must be booked ahead.
